Informational Text in the Real World: Unit Framework Bundle
Every author has a purpose, and that purpose shapes everything they write. This framework was built around that single idea, walking students from "who is talking and why" all the way to a final performance task where they produce their own informational piece instead of just analyzing someone else's.
Rather than a full day-by-day unit, this is the planning architecture itself: the standards alignment, the UbD unit plan, the pre- and post-assessments for both Grade Level and Honors, and the performance task with its rubric. Twenty years in the classroom taught me that the strongest teaching doesn't come from a script, it comes from a framework solid enough to build on. This one gives you that foundation, with room to fill in the daily work in whatever way fits your students best.
